1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using CookNextDoor ("the Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

These terms apply to all users, including home cooks ("Cooks") and people purchasing food ("Buyers").

2. What CookNextDoor is

CookNextDoor is a free community marketplace that connects home cooks with nearby people within a hyperlocal radius (approximately 1 km). We are a technology platform — we do not prepare, sell, or deliver food ourselves.

All transactions occur directly between Cooks and Buyers. CookNextDoor charges zero commission and takes no percentage of any sale.

3. Cook responsibilities

As a Cook on the platform, you agree to:

• Prepare food in a clean, hygienic environment consistent with applicable food safety standards
• Accurately describe all dishes including ingredients, allergens, and portion sizes
• Only list food that is safe for consumption and prepared on the day of listing
• Communicate promptly and honestly with Buyers
• Comply with all applicable local laws regarding home-based food businesses
• Not misrepresent yourself or your food in any way

CookNextDoor does not inspect kitchens or certify cooks. You are solely responsible for ensuring your food is safe.

4. Buyer responsibilities

As a Buyer, you agree to:

• Pay Cooks directly via agreed payment methods (PayNow, PayLah!, DuitNow, cash, etc.)
• Collect food at the agreed time and location
• Communicate any dietary requirements or allergies clearly and in advance
• Treat Cooks respectfully and professionally
• Leave honest, fair reviews based on your genuine experience

5. Payments & transactions

All payments are made directly between Cooks and Buyers. CookNextDoor does not process, hold, or facilitate payments. Supported methods include PayNow, PayLah!, DuitNow, Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, and cash.

CookNextDoor is not responsible for any payment disputes, fraud, or failure to pay. All financial transactions are the sole responsibility of the parties involved.

6. Prohibited conduct

Users may not:

• List food containing controlled substances or illegal ingredients
• Misrepresent the nature, quality, or safety of food
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Create fake reviews or manipulate ratings
• Use the platform for any purpose other than the buying and selling of home-cooked food
• Scrape, copy, or reproduce platform content without permission

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban.

7. Limitation of liability

CookNextDoor is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

• Any illness, injury, or harm resulting from food purchased through the platform
• Financial losses arising from transactions between Cooks and Buyers
• Loss of data, revenue, or goodwill
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

8. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
